Our Vision and Mission

Can a kinder, more wholesome world begin with an app?  We think so.

It stared with a vision.  Create an easy way for people to discover healthier foods and sustainable products – and to connect with like-minded people interested in growing something good.

From that ambitious idea, Makeena was born.

In Swahili, Makeena means happiness.  In Hawaiian, the word translates to abundance.  In English, Makeena is defined as empowerment.  Because Makeena’s mission is to make healthy and sustainable products and foods more accessible to everyone, and to help foster a world of kindness and giving.

Makeena connects shoppers for good.

The Makeena app is more than a coupon platform.  It’s an active community of united shoppers and brands who want to make healthy decisions, meaningful lifestyle choices, and a better world.  Our passion is to empower our members with money-saving offers, useful content, and charitable giving opportunities.  And to enlighten our brands with robust, accessible data, and analytics by leveraging the latest technology.

In an age of too much fast food, too much information, too little time and too little civility, Makeena is the friendly way to connect to health, sustainability,  and kindness.

Makeena.  Good for you.  Good for your family.  Good for the planet.
